FAQ

How do I find my ring size?

Finding the correct ring size is important for comfort and wear. We recommend using one of the following methods:

Method A: Using a Strip of Paper or String

  1. Cut a thin strip of paper or use a non-stretchy string.
  2. Wrap it around the base of the finger where the ring will sit.
  3. Mark the point where the paper or string overlaps.
  4. Measure the length (in millimeters) from the start to the mark.
  5. Use a ring size chart to find your size based on the circumference measurement.

Method B: Using a Ring You Already Own

  1. Select a ring that fits the intended finger comfortably.
  2. Measure the inside diameter of the ring in millimeters using a ruler or caliper.
  3. Match the diameter measurement to a ring size chart to determine your size.

Tips for Accurate Measurement

  • Measure your finger at the end of the day, as fingers are typically smaller in the morning and larger in the evening.
  • Measure multiple times to ensure accuracy.
  • Avoid measuring when your hands are cold, as fingers can contract.
  • Consider knuckle size: If your knuckle is larger than the base of your finger, choose a size that fits comfortably over the knuckle without being too loose once on.

  • Ring width matters: Wider bands (6 mm or more) may require going up ½–1 full size for comfort.
  • Fingers on your dominant hand are often slightly larger than those on your non-dominant hand.

Please note that LF Jewellery is not responsible for incorrect sizing selected at checkout. If you are unsure, we recommend visiting a professional jeweller for sizing assistance before placing your order.

How should I care for my jewellery?

To keep your jewellery looking its best:

  • Sterling silver naturally oxidizes, especially when exposed to sulphur, hot springs, or hot tubs.
  • Remove jewellery before swimming, bathing, or using cleaning products.
  • Clean sterling silver, 10k gold, and 14k gold with mild detergent and a soft-bristled toothbrush.
  • Use polishing cloths to remove tarnish.
  • Opals and pearls are delicate and should only be cleaned with a soft cloth.
  • When in doubt, consult LF Jewellery or a reputable jeweller.

Damage caused by improper care is not covered under warranty.

Do you offer custom jewellery?

Yes. We love creating one-of-a-kind custom pieces.

All custom orders require a 50% deposit. Design approvals are confirmed before production begins. Once work has started, orders cannot be cancelled or refunded.

Do you offer a warranty on your jewellery?

Yes. We are happy to honour any breakage or issues resulting from manufacturing or craftsmanship with an 8-month warranty, depending on the issue.

Warranty claims must be reviewed and approved by LF Jewellery. Normal wear and tear, misuse, accidental damage, loss, or unauthorized repairs are not covered.

For warranty inquiries, please email hello@lfjewellery.ca

What is not covered under the warranty?

Our warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear over time
  • Lost or stolen items
  • Damage caused by accidents, improper care, or misuse
  • Damage caused by exposure to chemicals, extreme heat, hot springs, or hot tubs
  • Alterations or repairs performed by a third party
  • Stones lost due to impact or wear after delivery
Do custom pieces come with a warranty?

Yes. Custom and one-of-a-kind pieces include an 8-month warranty covering stone settings and manufacturing issues only.

Because custom pieces are designed specifically for you, they are final sale and non-refundable.

What happens if a stone loosens or falls out over time?

Stone settings may loosen naturally due to regular wear. We recommend having valuable stone pieces checked every 6 months by a professional jeweller.

LF Jewellery is not responsible for stones lost due to wear, impact, or lack of routine maintenance.

Do you recommend insuring jewellery?

Yes. We strongly recommend insuring valuable or sentimental pieces, as LF Jewellery cannot replace or refund items that are lost, stolen, or damaged after delivery.
